It has to happen, the long standing lawsuit between Apple and Motorola seems to be getting settled. Apple and Motorola have reached an agreement in which both the companies will drop patent lawsuits against each other. The companies will work together in some areas of patent reform and does not include a cross license to their respective patents. Although there is no information what prompted the change of heart, but the two companies informed a federal appeals court in Washington that the cases should be dismissed.
The lawsuit for patent infringement between Apple and Motorola began in 2010 and Judge Richard Posner dismissed it in 2012, saying neither company had sufficient evidence to prove its case. Whatever be the reason, it’s good to see phone makers compete in stores rather than in the courtroom.
