A crack on the screen will affect the overall look and performance of your smartphone. Even with so much technological advancement replacing parts of smartphones are still costly. People are afraid to carry their smartphones because of the fear of dropping them and breaking the screen.

Indian researchers have found a way to solve this problem. A team of researchers from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, and Indian Institute of Science, Education and Research, Kolkata has published in a journal about a “self-healing crystalline material”. This material can reassemble the pieces that are broken to bring the screen back to its original form. If this material can successfully be made into smartphone screens, then it would be a pathbreaking invention.

More details or progress of this are not known. Let’s just hope that these may be implemented soon so that we can carry our phones without worrying about broken screens.
