As a part of the design refresh initiated by Windows 11, the desktop operating system will bring back rounded corners. Windows 11 is set to provide a WinUI 2.6 or WinUI 3 refresh to a number of elements and menus.

With this design refresh, several prominent UI elements, menus, and buttons will be given rounded corners in the new Windows OS. These menus and elements had sharp edges from Windows 8. Legacy apps and pages like Control Panel and Disk Management tool will also have rounded corners. The rounded corners have some unexpected white pixels making it look jagged. But Microsoft has solved this problem with Windows 11 Build 22000.120 preview. The rounded corners are expected to look flawless in the dark mode. However, the problem remains in some cases.

The company clarified that “Thank you for submitting your feedback! We fixed an issue where white artifacts were appearing on the corners of windows in Build 22000.120, which is now available in the Dev Channel”.

Other than the feature for rounded corners, Windows 11 will also have a mica theme, new design elements powered by Fluent Design, new desktop backgrounds, new colourful themes, and icons. Microsoft aims to make the new interface softer and friendlier.

Windows 11 is now expected to release by October 2021 according to Windows Latest. But it will be available to devices that meet the minimum requirements only by early 2022.
