Trello is a work management platform backed by Atlassian. It is a web-based list-making app and has launched a new tier to its platform, named Standard. Standard focuses on small and medium-sized groups. The company has increased no-code automation accessibility discarding its earlier model of limited to one integration or add-on per free board. The new accessibility comes along with new workflow features which all users can claim.
The pandemic facilitated the need for workflow management tools due to the change to remote and hybrid work. According to a recent Nemertes Research survey, almost half of the companies are planning to invest in Slack, Microsoft Teams, Airtable, and similar team collaboration apps. The Wakefield Research survey found that 78% of the users think that such platforms are essential for their work. The new tier launched by Trello discards the strict admin controls and process-heavy functionality which was present in the Premium and Enterprise plans. Standard brings in Premium features like unlimited boards and enhanced checklists to it. With the help of custom fields, users can now add separate fields for data in front of their Trello cards. It can include text, numbers, drop-down lists, and dates. The automation commands limit is now 1,000 per month.
The Premium plan was priced at $10 per month or $12.5 per member and the new Standard tier comes at $5 per month or $6 per member. The Enterprise plan is priced at $17.50 per member. Apart from the new plan, Trello has also added unlimited automation commands for Premium users. Free tier users will get an unlimited number of Power-Ups which are tools and connectors. Most of these are free while some need a paid subscription to third-party services.
The new automation feature will also allow users to write automation rules in-line, unlike the Butler workflow orchestration dashboard. Trello will complete the most common automation commands and the users need to work only on the prompts. It has also added Shareable automation commands which will let users share automation commands on other boards. Trello had earlier added new board views, card capabilities, and integrations for third-party data.
Trello co-founder and CEO Michael Pryor told media that the platform is working on ways to improve the workforce management tools. He added that the new Standard tier has become the most affordable of its kind, priced at $5. He also stated that employees make use of the platform even without a push from their respective companies. And new team members added to a Trello board will be able to begin managing their projects without any training from their team leads.
