The wild world of Tromaville, New Jersey is back in action as the long-awaited Toxic Crusaders video game finally gets a release date. Featured in a trailer unveiled during San Diego Comic-Con, the game is officially launching on December 4 for PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, and Steam.

Reviving the eccentric energy of the cult-favorite ’90s cartoon, the game is a vibrant side-scrolling beat ’em up rendered in nostalgic pixel art. Players can choose from seven characters, each equipped with unique abilities and combat styles. The game also supports up to four players in local co-op mode, offering a full-blown team brawl experience.

Toxic Crusaders picks up right where the animated series left off, bringing back familiar foes like the notorious Dr. Killemoff and his goofy sidekicks. For fans who were left hanging after the show’s single-season run, the game acts as a continuation of the cartoon’s chaotic charm.

Originally slated for a 2023 release, the title faced a few delays before arriving at its final date. Fortunately, fans won’t have to wait much longer to return to the slime-filled streets of Tromaville.

And for those eager to dive back into the franchise even sooner, The Toxic Avenger a reboot of the 1984 film that inspired the cartoon hits theaters on August 29.
