The popular social media app, Tiktok is set to introduce technological innovations in its app that ensure automatic removal of videos that seem to violate the community guidelines provided by them. Owned by ByteDance, the app allows users to make short videos ranging from fifteen seconds to three minutes. The technical side is working on the automatic removal and will soon introduce it in the platform.
The videos uploaded on the platform will be reviewed for potential violations. If it is found violating any guidelines, the content will be removed and the user will be informed about the same. Multiple violations from a single user may even result in the deactivation of the account. Tiktok, along with certain other social media apps, faced severe criticism recently on the grounds that the platform supports hate speech.
The automatic removal will focus on areas related to adult nudity and sexual activities, the safety of minors, violent and illegal contents. The safety team could thus focus on more serious guideline breaches like online harassments, misinformation and the spreading of hate.
