Rivian will begin sending its first R1T truck and R1S SUV “Launch Edition” models to customers in just a few weeks. If you’ve been considering preordering one of the vehicles, you’ve had to make your decision based on internal corporate estimations. That is no longer the case. After evaluating both the R1S and R1T, the Environmental Protection Agency released its approved range guidelines.
The EPA claims that the R1T can travel 314 miles (about 505 kilometres) on a single charge when equipped with Rivian’s 135kWh power pack, while the R1S can go 316 miles on a full battery. Rivian plans to release a “Max” pack in 2022 that will deliver around 400 miles of range per charge, according to the company. More information about the EPA certification will be released soon, according to the company.
