A new indie puzzle title is on its way, and it’s taking a sharply satirical look at remote work culture and the dark underbelly of corporate ambition. Titled Pocket Boss, the game was officially unveiled during the Day of the Devs showcase part of this year’s Summer Game Fest and will soon be launching on Steam.

In Pocket Boss, you step into the role of a remote employee juggling the bizarre and ever-escalating demands of an overbearing virtual boss. Most of the game plays out within a chat interface, but things get creative and chaotic once the boss asks you to “adjust” company data to edge out rivals and maximize profits.

That’s where the core puzzle mechanics kick in. The game creatively shifts into a variety of fast-paced mini-games, each reflecting a twisted version of everyday business tasks. In one scenario, you’re flinging competitors’ market share off the screen. In another, you’re navigating a risky “stock market” obstacle course, trying not to crash—literally. It’s a satirical spin that might remind some gamers of the frenetic gameplay style of WarioWare, but soaked in corporate irony.

From the Creators of Time Flies and KIDS

The game is developed by Playables, the team known for the artsy platformer Time Flies and the thought-provoking interactive experience KIDS. While Pocket Boss doesn’t yet have a confirmed release date, the trailer promises a mix of humour, critique, and smart puzzle design that should appeal to fans of both indie games and social commentary.

For Indian gamers interested in unique, offbeat titles with layered themes, Pocket Boss might just be one to watch. It brings together absurdist office culture, gamified capitalism, and sharp design—all wrapped in a deceptively simple interface.

Gaming Season Heats Up

Pocket Boss is just one of several exciting indie announcements from the Day of the Devs stream, itself part of the larger Summer Game Fest 2025. With many showcases lined up in the coming days, it’s a great time to be a gaming enthusiast—especially if you enjoy exploring trailers, gameplay reveals, and hidden indie gems.
