Opera One, the browser known for its emphasis on generative AI features and originally launched for desktops last year, is now available on iOS devices. It maintains the streamlined design of its desktop version but introduces a full-screen interface and mobile-specific features. Following the implementation of the Digital Markets Act in the European Union, Opera reported a 63 percent increase in new users and has “embraced the opportunities presented by the new regulatory landscape.”

The mobile version allows users to reposition the search bar to the bottom of the screen, facilitating easier one-handed typing while on the go. Users can also activate the search bar by swiping down, similar to how they would search for apps on their phone. The updated search function enhances speed by displaying predictive options, including full URLs, as soon as users begin typing. Additionally, the colors of the browser’s top and bottom bars adapt to match the website being viewed, and both bars disappear when browsing starts for a more immersive experience.

Opera One’s focus on generative AI is evident with the inclusion of Aria, the company’s built-in browser assistant, which now supports voice input for spoken queries. Users can also request Aria to generate images using Google’s Imagen2 model. In line with Opera’s commitment to security, the iOS browser version includes a built-in ad blocker and a free VPN.
