The upcoming Made by Google event is scheduled for August 13, but you might not have to wait to learn about the Google Pixel Watch 3. A leak from a Google insider to Android Headlines has disclosed some details about the new smartwatch.
According to the leak, promotional materials from Google reveal the specs of the Google Pixel Watch 3 and highlight its improvements over the Pixel Watch 2. One significant change is the size options; unlike the single 41mm size of the Pixel Watch 2, the Pixel Watch 3 will be available in both 41mm and 45mm sizes.
Additionally, Google is upgrading the display from the Watch 2’s AMOLED to an Actua display in the Pixel Watch 3, which is 1,000 nits brighter at its peak. The battery can charge 20 percent faster for the 41mm model. While the battery life remains the same at 24 hours with the Always On display, a new battery saver mode extends the life to up to 36 hours.
The Pixel Watch 3 will introduce several new features. It will offer live video views from Nest Cam or Nest Doorbell devices with voice support, and provide quick access to apps like Maps and Wallet. The new watch will also focus heavily on fitness, including workout tracking, haptic cues for jogging at certain paces, and a detailed step tracker that measures your average pace during walks or runs. It will integrate with Fitbit Premium to offer a morning briefing of daily fitness metrics, access to virtual trainers, and recommended workout ideas.
However, none of these details are officially confirmed yet. The full features and capabilities of the Google Pixel Watch 3 will be revealed during the event on August 13.
