Netflix video streaming app has begun the procedure for supporting spatial audio on its iOS app, as reported by 9to5Mac. A spokesperson of the company has confirmed the feature. It is reported that it will be added as a slow rollout to its iOS users.

To get this feature, one might need a pair of AirPods Pro or AirPods Max along with an iPhone or iPad with iOS 14 installed on the device. The option for enabling this feature will be available in the Control Center. As mentioned, this is a slow rollout and therefore, some users might not be able to see this feature immediately even if they have the latest version of Netflix installed on their device.

Spatial audio enhances the audio quality and makes the users feel as if the entire room is filled with sound. This is done by using head-tracking to widen the soundstage of a movie or TV show. It creates an immersive experience. Netflix is very late in adding this feature to its app. Popular apps like Disney+, HBO Max, and Peacock had this feature for a long time. But of course, there are some other popular apps which haven’t still enabled this feature. It includes YouTube and Amazon Prime Video.
