Linktree is entering into a partnership with PayPal to add on to its “Commerce Links” tools. It will help in direct payment on Linktree globally. Linktree is known for its “link in bio” service and has over 16 million customers. It states that creators from the countries where PayPal functions can now receive their payments through its transaction tools.

“Commerce Links” was launched by the startup in March and it allowed users to receive payments directly on their profile without opening a new tab. The update allows the customers on the platform to link their PayPal account and receive payments there. The users will also get transaction details, conversion rates, and other services on it. The company also notes that available data will also help the creators to “manage their digital presence”. (TechCrunch) Linktree co-founder and CEO Alex Zaccaria stated that the collaboration will help creators to make transactions smoothly and will allow them to “manage and monetize their digital presence”.

The Commerce Links allow creators to receive payments in two methods. There is a “Support Me Link” by which a creator can receive payments and donations from their visitors. The other is a “Request Links” which allows the visitors or customers to request the creators for goods and services. It will be done directly through the Linktree profile.

The company says that the new partnership is one of its many new creator-focussed efforts. It has recently acquired the automated music link aggregation platform Songlink/Odesli. It is planning to work on its new “Music Link” with this acquisition.

Linktree was founded in 2016 and competes with other “link in bio” platforms such as Shorby, Linkin.bio, and Beacons. It raised almost $45 million in its Series B financing round that was led by Index Ventures, Coatue, AirTree Ventures, and Insight Partners.
