The upcoming iPhone 13 series promises a number of improvements, but one of them may address a frequent issue: the never-ending demand for greater storage. According to reports, well-known analyst Ming-Chi Kuo claims that the iPhone 13 Pro and Pro Max will have up to 1TB of storage, in addition to the 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB storage options from the iPhone 12 Pro family. While that will undoubtedly be costly, it may be worth it if you shoot a lot of videos or want that much more futureproofing.

The base iPhone 13 and 13 mini, according to Kuo, would start at 128GB, up from the (admittedly inadequate) 64GB of its predecessors. There would also be a new 512GB tier, meaning you wouldn’t have to buy a Pro model merely to acquire more than 256GB.

There may be alternative options for saving money. The analyst also predicted that the current AirPods would be sold alongside the third-generation devices, which will be unveiled during Apple’s September 14th event. He wasn’t sure how this would influence pricing, but the most likely scenario is a price cut that allows the third-generation AirPods to fill the void left by the original AirPods. Apple might charge more for the new wireless earphones, but there wouldn’t be much of a difference between them and the (usually $250) AirPods Pro.

If rumours are true, the new AirPods will look more like their Pro counterparts and enable spatial audio, but they won’t have the eartips or active noise cancellation of the higher-end buds. That might make the current, no-frills AirPods the ‘budget’ option for people looking for a cheaper alternative to the Pixel Buds A, Nothing Ear 1, and other value-oriented competitors.
