IMDb TV offers a free streaming service that is supported by ads. They did not have their own apps till now. So, now they are planning to release standalone apps for iOS and Android-run mobile devices. The streaming service is owned by Amazon and had already released IMDb TV apps for LG Smart TVs, PlayStation 4, NVIDIA Shield, and TiVo Stream 4K in March. This was launched following the expansion to Roku.

The recent release will help the service to gain more customers on its platform. Amazon is planning to add more features on IMDb TV. For now, they are in discussions to release the free service internationally. The service is currently available in the US and will further be extended to Mexico and the UK initially. If it goes the way the company has planned, it will then be released in Latin America and other European countries.

IMDb TV is a subsidiary of Amazon allowing it to have access to Amazon Originals made for the platform. This includes the crime drama Leverage: Redemption. It also gives access to other popular shows and movies including Chicago Fire, All in the Family, Wolf of Wall Street, and How to Train Your Dragon.
