In India, free WiFi is something that the internet service providers do not normally give away to the public. However, being one of biggest e-commerce players, PayTM will be providing free WiFi to people at metro stations. The service has already been started at a Noida metro station as a pilot test. Once the initial testing is given a green signal, the PayTM free WiFi service will be offered at all metro stations in New Delhi.
Vijay Shekhar Sharma, CEO and founder of PayTM, broke this news over Facebook and Twitter and also shared a screenshot of a device that was connected to a “PayTM Wi-Fi.” As seen in the screenshot, the free internet service by PayTM is available currently at the metro station in Noida Sector 18.
The PayTM free WiFi internet service will not be limited to the PayTM app but will also work with other apps, which directly shows that the CEO honors net neutrality and supports free internet in India. Providing free WiFi at busy public locations is the latest marketing stunt and also a public demand. Many major players in the telecom and internet industry including Tata Docomo, Vodafone, Microsoft, and Google are either already offering or are going to launch free WiFi hotspots in various parts of India.
How to Get Free Internet With PayTM Free WiFi
- Go to any PayTM WiFi hotspot area, which is currently in Noida Sector 18 metro station and will be provided at all Delhi metro stations soon.
- Go to Settings > Wi-Fi and turn it on. The device will automatically search for available hotspots.
- If you see a hotspot named “PayTM Wi-Fi” just select it and tap “Connect”. Follow any on-screen instructions if they appear.
