Google necessitate ‘powered by Android’ branding on new devices

Samsung’s Galaxy S5 had one interesting addition, a “powered by Android” logo on the phone’s splash screen, and the same was spotted on HTC’s new One. This seems to be a smaller addition with respect to users which will not affect them in any sense, but it is not that simple as it looks, there is a much bigger plan associated with this. According to Geek, Google is necessitating all its Android manufacturers to include “powered by” logo  in order to get certified for its Mobile Services.

This move indicates that Google now wants to focus on its Android branding. Many hardware manufacturers like Samsung have deviated far from the actual Android OS by adding excessive number of TouchWiz features, which makes hard for the consumers to know what mobile OS truly powers their devices. So the software giant wants to ensure that its name and branding still gets noticed and recognized by the end users. This new requirement will likely affect not only new devices going forward, but the older devices that still receive software updates.
