Google may be preparing to reveal an AI-powered assistant capable of managing tasks within a web browser to streamline everyday activities. According to The Information, this initiative, internally named “Project Jarvis,” could be ready for preview as early as December. Sources indicate that Jarvis functions by frequently taking screenshots of a user’s screen, analyzing them, and then executing tasks like clicking buttons or typing into fields based on user commands.
Jarvis is reportedly optimized for web browsers—especially Chrome—to assist with tasks such as research, online shopping, and flight bookings. This development aligns with Google’s expansion of its Gemini AI capabilities. The next generation of Gemini, slated for a December release, recently saw enhancements, including broader language support and integration with Google Meet, Photos, and other applications.
This news follows closely on the heels of Anthropic’s recent feature for Claude AI, which similarly empowers the AI with computer skills to operate a range of standard tools and software. Currently available in public beta, Claude’s capabilities suggest an ongoing trend toward AI agents designed for comprehensive, interactive support.
