Gionee has launched the world’s slimmest smartphone, the Elife S5.5 in India. As the name suggests, it is super slim at 5.5mm. Other features that the device boast include a 5-inch 1080p display with 441ppi, which is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3. It is powered by 1.7GHz MediaTek MT6592 octa-core processor paired with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage, however there is no microSD card slot to expand its memory. Rest of the features include a 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, a 5-megapixel front-facing shooter and 2,300mAh battery. It runs on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean with the company’s Amigo UI running on top.
Connectivity options include 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS. Gionee Elife S5.5 will be available in Black, White, Pink, Blue and Purple color variants, when it will go on sale on April 27 in India at a price of Rs 22,999.
