AMD has launched two new processors- the Ryzen 5 5600G and Ryzen 7 5700G. These APUs are reported to be able to solve a problem in the PC building space mainly due to the GPU shortage.
The price of last-gen APUs had witnessed a hike due to the GPU shortage. AMD has solutions for this in its latest chips. The chips will have the new Zen 3 architecture in addition to being budget-friendly. The Ryzen 7 5700G is priced at $360 which AMD claims to outperform the 3400G in Fortnite by 23% at 1080p. The Ryzen 5 5600G is priced at $259. The GPU pricing problem has led many developers to choose APU. But some of the APUs were criticized for being overpriced. The new chips from AMD have solved this issue by aptly pricing the chips.
The Ryzen 5 5600G has a base clock of 3.9GHz and a boost clock of 4.4GHz. The other one, which is the Ryzen 7 5700G will have a base clock of 3.8GHz and a boost clock of 4.6GHz.
Digital Trends reports that AMD claims that the 5600G can provide 79 frames per second (fps) in Civilization VI, 33 fps in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, and 98 fps in Fortnite, all at 1080p with low settings. The 5700G is slightly more powerful in gaming, with a similar performance as the 5600G in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey and Fortnite and 84 fps in Civilization VI.
These were announced by AMD at Computex and are now available for purchase across retailers.
