Amazon will be updating its fitness band, Amazon Halo Band to enable live sharing of heartbeat information with other devices. The information will be shared with third-party devices and fitness apps with the help of BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy). Current partners of the company include NordicTrack for its iFit service, Openfit, and CLMBR.

The live heart rate information was available in the Live tab of the Halo app. Now the information can be displayed in other apps and devices just as easily as it appears on the Halo app. The user can share heart rate information by switching on the Heart Rate Sharing in the Halo app’s settings. After switching it on, simply follow the on-screen prompts to enable this feature.

Having an on-screen heart rate on fitness devices is common. It will motivate the user to continue their exercise and sometimes explain why they feel tired during some parts of the workout. Sometimes the heart rate information becomes a feature that sells some devices. Apple Fitness Plus needs an Apple Watch for features like “Burn Bar”.

Amazon is improving its Halo Band in more ways. Amazon has also improved its app and band to monitor “movement health” this June.
